Botcon (!?)

Hi!

I graduated two weeks ago .. (!!!!!), and after moping around trying to figure what to do with myself while simultaneously quietly freaking out about my upcoming Boards, I remembered that I used to have a Life! So ... I'm quietly trying to remember to actually write here. :)

I decided I needed to get out of the house, so I decided to indulge one of my nerdy tendencies and headed over to Botcon, which was being held in Pasadena.

Botcon is a Transformers convention. Yes, Yes it is. And I am so sad I didn't bring a camera!

Anyway, my main reason for going was to meet an artist/author I follow on DA--she draws these hilarious, adorable comics and beautiful pictures, and has a wonderful story I follow (yes, I occasionally read actual TF fanfiction--which I unabashedly love along with lots of other fandoms--on ff.net called "Small Problems". Anyway, I did get to meet her, which was fun, and she was super nice. Then I wandered around with hundreds of people looking at the world's supply of TF toys (Sorry ... collectibles, which I was clueless about. I did notice that the toys my brother and I played with as kids are now worth anywhere between $500-$1000! I was never into comic books--that was my brother Christopher's hobby--but some of the artwork for sale was quite stunning and fun to look at. The other fun part was that they had all the cars from the movies parked inside (and I have no idea how they got an eighteen wheeler inside an auditorium). Again, I wish I had gotten pictures! The best was definitely the "Ironhide" truck that some private person had bought, tricked out, and parked outside. (This is a BIG pick-up, by the way--it's as big as an actual truck.) On the sides in huge letters was scrawled "Jesus Christ will TRANSFORM your life!"

Next week at the Convention Center is the Cat show! :)
